I'm a complete beginner. Which session should I choose?
Start with Classes. It takes a minimum of 4 classes to learn one Mahjong style. Each class is 2 hours, and Neha can help you choose Asian (Goulash and Hands) - Dubai Style, Taiwanese, or American Style based on the style you want to learn.
Where are Mahjong classes and open play sessions held in Dubai?
Sessions are held across Dubai, including Springs Souq, JLT, Dubai Hills Mall, and Jumeirah. Most players choose the area that suits them, and Neha shares current venue and group details on WhatsApp.
Can I come alone?
Yes. Many students come alone. You will be seated at a friendly table and guided through the session.
Can I join with friends?
Yes. Message Neha with the names in your group so she can place you at the right class, open play, Club, or tournament table.
How do I join a table?
WhatsApp Neha. She will confirm your level, preferred area, available group, venue details, and any payment instructions directly.
Do I need to bring anything?
No. Mahjong sets, mats, guides, score sheets, and table materials are provided.
When should I arrive?
Please arrive 10 minutes before your session so the table can begin on time.
Can I bring my own Mahjong set?
Yes. For open play, bring your Mahjong set if you have one. Sets are provided where necessary, especially for Club sessions.
Rescheduling Policy
Rescheduling is possible when requested at least 24 hours before the session and subject to availability.
Cancellation Policy
Please message as early as possible if your plans change so the seat can move to the waitlist.
What is the difference between Classes, Open Play, Club, and Tournaments?
Classes teach a Mahjong style. Open Play is AED 25 for a two-hour casual session. Club is AED 200 for five two-hour sessions within three months. Tournaments are quarterly friendly competitions.
How do payments work?
Payment is usually by bank transfer. Payment links are being added soon, and Neha will share the current payment instructions directly on WhatsApp.
Are classes women-only or mixed?
Sessions are predominantly women, but all genders are welcome. Message Neha if you want to understand the group before booking.
Can visitors or tourists in Dubai join a session?
Yes. Visitors and tourists in Dubai are welcome to join when a suitable class, open play table, or private session is available.
Do you teach children, teens, and families?
Yes. Children, teens, families, and adults are welcome. Neha can suggest the best class or private group format based on the players' ages and experience.
Can I book a corporate, birthday, or private Mahjong event?
Yes. Mahjong World Dubai sometimes hosts private classes, corporate sessions, birthdays, and home groups. Message Neha with the group size, location, and preferred date.
Can I join the Regulars List without taking a class first?
Yes, if you already know how to play. If you are new to Dubai table styles, Neha may recommend a class first so open play is more enjoyable.
How are players grouped by level?
Neha asks whether players are beginner, intermediate, or advanced, then tries to match tables by level, area, and Mahjong style.
Which Mahjong style is most commonly played in Dubai?
Asian (Goulash and Hands) - Dubai Style, popularly called ATF in Dubai, is one of the most common styles at Dubai social tables. Indian variants are also becoming more visible.
Is Mahjong hard to learn if I have never played tile or card games?
Mahjong can look detailed at first, but it is not hard to start with a teacher and real tiles. Neha breaks the game into tile recognition, turn rhythm, simple decisions, and practice.
